The Year I Became a Fitness Model (Joking!)
2021 was the year I became a fitness model 🤣.
The gym that I train at does an annual photoshoot and in 2021, I took part.
The training was fun but the dieting, not so fun.
The goal was to get to 50kg and 15% body fat, which required serious diet control. We dieted for 3 months straight, with the last 3 weeks being the most brutal.
3 months: No diary, no rice, no noodles, no pasta, no bread, no sugar, no desserts, no alcohol. 1,200 kcal a day.
3 weeks: basically a bodybuilders diet. 800 kcal a day of turkey breast and black coffee.
Day before: No sodium, no fibre, no artificial sweeteners, minimal water.
Final weigh in: 52.5kg. I didn’t hit 15% body fat but was close at 16%. Not bad for someone who was once 81kg!
Here are the photos from the photoshoot!
I was pretty happy with the results. It was hard work but totally worth it. One of these photos ended up on a poster outside the gym (Surge, 79 Anson Road) for the entire year of 2022 (it’s still there in 2023), and many friends came to take their obligatory wefies with it!
